What we collect when you use this website or get in touch, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

01Who we are
This website is run by High Tech Digital Technologies (“High Tech”, “we”, “us”), a security, fire alarm and audio-visual installation company based in Brookhaven, NY. This policy covers the website only. Information we handle while designing, installing or servicing a system for you is covered by the agreement for that work.
02What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us, plus the basic technical data every website receives.
- Inquiry details. When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, phone number and your message. We also record the page you sent it from and your IP address, which helps us spot and filter spam.
- Calls and emails. If you call or email us, we keep the details you share so we can reply and quote.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting server records standard request logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. These are used for security and to keep the site running.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send through the form, payment card details, alarm codes or passwords.
03How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry, arrange a site survey and prepare a quote.
- To carry out and support work you have asked us to do.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
- To meet our legal, insurance and record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you have asked us to.
04Who we share it with
We share information only where we need to in order to help you, for example:
- Service providers who help us receive and respond to inquiries: our web host and email provider, who store and deliver messages; Google, whose spreadsheet service we may use to keep a log of inquiries; and Twilio, which we may use to send our team a text alert when a new inquiry arrives. They handle it on our behalf and not for their own purposes.
- Manufacturers, central station monitoring companies or subcontractors, where that is part of the work you have asked for.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
05Maps, fonts and other third-party content
Some pages load content from other companies, which may receive your IP address and browser details when the page loads:
- Google Maps shows our service area on the homepage and contact page.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces used across the site.
Those companies handle that data under their own privacy policies.
Cookies. This website does not use advertising cookies. If we use analytics to understand how the site is used, it only runs after you agree through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page. Your choice is remembered in a small cookie so we do not have to ask again.
06How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are no longer needed, normally within two years. Records for jobs we carry out are kept for as long as our warranty, insurance and legal obligations require.
07Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can see it. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send anything highly sensitive through the contact form.
08Your choices
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Just call or email us using the details below and we will deal with it promptly.
09Children
This website is intended for adults arranging work for their home or business. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
